Concerts at Scarborough Open Air Theatre

25th Jun 2014 – Jessie J

Brit Award winning global singing sensation, Jessie J, will be bringing her explosive performance to Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Wednesday 25 June.

Fans will be wowed by one of Jessie’s legendary performances as part of her 2014 touring schedule when she takes to the stage in the beautiful surroundings of Europe’s largest open air theatre.  Jessie will perform many of her hit songs, including recent material from her second album, ‘Alive’.

27th Jun 2014 – McBusted

Scarborough Borough Council in association with National Holidays is delighted to announce that pop supergroup, McBusted, will take to the stage of Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Friday 27 June.

Fans can expect a shamelessly nostalgic set full of everyone’s favourite Busted and McFly hits, with a few surprise gems thrown into the mix.

28th Jun 2014 – Last Night of the Proms

Time – 06:00 pm – 10:00 pm

On Saturday 28 June 2014 Welsh singer and television and radio broadcaster Aled Jones will host and perform in a spectacular Last Night of the Proms concert, featuring the beautiful and harmonious voices of the Military Wives Choirs York, Britain’s most exciting young mezzo soprano Laura Wright and Welsh male choral group Only Men Aloud.  Musical accompaniment will be provided by the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) and the concert will finish with a grand firework finale

The date has been specifically chosen to coincide with Scarborough Armed Forces Day which this year is being kindly sponsored by First TransPennine Express. Scarborough Borough Council has arranged for everyone buying a ticket for the concert to be able to make a voluntary donation to the national Armed Forces.

12th Jul 2014 – Status Quo

Scarborough Borough Council in association with National Holidays is excited to announce that Scarborough Open Air Theatre will step back in time on Saturday 2 August 2014 for a very special concert featuring seven of the most popular acts of the 1980’s and early 1990’s.

Get ready to party along to ‘Legends of Pop’ with smash hits from Bananarama, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley, Sonia, Hazell Dean, Brother Beyond’s Nathan Moore and Undercover.

13th Aug 2014 – Milkshake! Live

Time – 01:00pm onwards

On Wednesday 13 August, Milkshake! Live will stop off at Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre as part of its 2014 national tour.

Starring some of the favourite characters from Milkshake! the Channel 5 children’s show, Milkshake! Live is a brand new musical spectacular, which is sure to have children up on their feet and singing at the top of their voices.

Joining the fantastic show will be two Milkshake! presenters who will take the audience on a fun Milkshake! adventure that is bound to dazzle and delight.

The show features brand new songs, classic favourites and funky dance routines, plus plenty of laughter, bags of audience interaction and bucket loads of fun for all the family.

23th Aug 2014 – Union J

X Factor English boy band Union J and special guests, 2013 X Factor finalists Luke Friend and Rough Copy, British singer songwriter Tich and upcoming talent, 18 year old Ollie Marland, join this year’s line up for the season finale on Saturday 23 August.

24th Aug 2014 – Family Fun Day

Time – All Day

Fun for all the family will be the order of the day when some of children’s television’s best loved characters will be part of an action packed afternoon’s entertainment at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday 24 August

Bob the Builder will be performing in his ‘Sunflower Sailor’ mini show starting at 1pm, with further appearances scheduled.  Angelina Ballerina is also set to appear on stage in the afternoon.  These popular characters will also be making separate personal appearances within the theatre grounds at intervals during the day.  Peppa Pig and George will also be present as part of the entertainment programme; the Peppa Pig brand is celebrating 10 years of Muddy Puddles in 2014.

The theatre will open at 12pm for pre-show activities and stalls, which will continue throughout the event.  These include: a balloon man, bouncy castle, face painting and a silent jam hub.
